Funding for capacity-building of social partners
Maltese trade unions are important players in the local social dialogue process. At European level, social dialogue is valued as a fundamental component of the European social model, so much so that the European Commission must consult social partners before taking any action in the field of social policy. Priority Axis (PA) 4 of the European Social Fund offers NGOs, social partners and civil society organisations the opportunity to apply for capacity-building projects in the field of social dialogue. Through a call which is currently at pre-announcement stage under this PA, social partners can submit project proposals with the aim of acquiring the necessary technical capacity to enable their participation in the development of Government policies. Applicants can submit projects which improve their performance in the social dialogue process for EU and national policies. Such capacity-building can include improved coordination with policy-makers and/or better technical capacity to participate in social dialogue at EU level. The call provides financial support up to €100,000 covering a maximum of 80% of eligible costs. Projects can include training, research and networking activities. For further information about this call and to find out how MEUSAC can assist you in the funding application process, call 2200 3300 or send an
