The Erasmus+ funding programme is the EU’s main funding instrument for education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020. This programme offers many opportunities in the fields of training and education, including opportunities specifically in the field of vocational, education and training (VET).

The funding strand Mobility Projects for VET Learners and Staff provides opportunities for both learners and staff of organisations active in the field of VET or active in the labour market.

Opportunities for learners consist of either short-term (2 weeks to less than 3 months) or long-term mobilities (3 months to 12 months) in VET providers and/or companies abroad.

Opportunities for staff of VET organisations consist of either training in the form of (i) a work placement or job shadowing/observation experience in a company or any other VET provider or, (ii) a teaching/training assignment abroad, during which staff can teach at a VET provider abroad. All mobilities for either learners and/or staff must take place in an eligible country other than the country of residence of the learner/staff member participating in the project.

Projects can consist of one or more mobilities, with no capping on the number of persons who can participate.

This funding strand also provides financial support to VET learners, including apprentices or recent graduates to undertake long-term mobility abroad.
