Through the Employment and Social Innovation (EaSIprogramme, the EU seeks to promote a high level of quality and sustainable employment, guaranteeing adequate and decent social protection, combating social exclusion and poverty and improving working conditions.  

EaSI is managed directly by the European Commission and some of its objectives include: (iSupport for the development of adequate social protection systems and labour market policies; (ii) Increase the availability and accessibility of microfinance for vulnerable groups and micro-enterprises, and increase access to finance for social enterprises; and (iii) Promote geographical mobility and boost employment opportunities by developing an open labour market 

Recently, the European Commission adopted its annual work programme for grants and procurement for EaSI 2020, setting the priorities of the programme for next year. These priorities are the promotion of international and labour standards, ensuring safe and healthy work environment, job creation through social entrepreneurship and the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights.  

Throughout 2020 a number of different calls for proposals will be published focusing on the above-mentioned priorities including call for proposals on social innovationThe aim of this call for proposals is to provide funding for pilot projects which test integrated and innovative approaches addressing social exclusion.
