The Citizens’ Consultations themed ‘Għid tieghek dwar l-Ewropa’ will come to a close on November 9 with an event which will see the participation of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. The event, the seventh of the series, will focus on the feedback received during the previous consultations of the same series, serving as a wrap-up.

The consultations are being held in all EU Member States excluding the United Kingdom, on the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron. Citizens are being given the opportunity to air their views and concerns on Europe’s future. MEUSAC has been tasked to organise these events in Malta. A report will be compiled by MEUSAC and forwarded to the European Council by Dr Muscat for consideration by the end of this year. Dr Muscat had also emphasised the need to reach out to listen to people with different ideas, even those who did not agree with the EU or who feel excluded by the EU.

Past consultations tackled the future of farming, innovative industries, migration and various social aspects.

This event will be held at 7pm, at Auberge d’Aragon, Independence Square, Valletta.

Proceedings will be conducted in the Maltese language, however, non-Maltese speakers may also intervene in English.
