EU provides assistance to improve work-life balance for women and men
In recent years the EU has made it its mission to reduce gender gaps across all Member States of the EU. As a result of its work, it has been successful in reducing the gender employment gap across Europe by 11.5%. Notwithstanding this, the gender pay gap has remained unchanged at 16.2%. The Commission has identified that to reduce this gender gap it is important to improve the work-life balance.
Through the call for proposals on “closing gender gaps over the life-cycle – work-life balance for women and men – a better sharing of care” funded through the Rights, Equality and Citizenship programme”, the EU is funding activities which:
- Tackle negative gender stereotypes with regard to care;
- Awareness raising activities;
- Exchange of best practices; and
- Capacity building for authorities
Eligible applicants are restricted to the national authority in charge of policy on gender equality or work-life balance. The application may involve one or more organisations while the requested grant can’t be lower than €100,000 while there is no maximum limit.
The deadline for this call is June 13, 2019
