Local sport club garners Erasmus+ Sport funds for small collaborative partnership with foreign clubs
MEUSAC has assisted a local sport organisation in successfully submitting an application to garner EU funds for a small-collaborative partnership project, under Erasmus+ Sport, titled: ‘Team Up for Sport’ (TU4S).
Mġarr Youth Nursery in collaboration with associated international partners Nogometni Klub MB Tabor and KS Legionovia were awarded just under €60,000, for a transnational project involving Malta, Slovenia and Poland.
The TU4S project seeks to ensure gender equality in and through sport, specifically in football, through discussing the lack of female participation in football; discussing the lack of female uptake in volunteering/careers related to sport; and discussing the discrimination, sexism and stereotypes directed at female athletes, coaches and other staff members, still present in football; through the involvement of female youth athletes, coaches, parents and other relevant stakeholders.
There are three activities planned in each participating country and are expected to be held over the course of three days. The activities will include workshops, conferences and a sports day. The project will kick off on January 1 next year.
