The Erasmus+ EU funding programme offers a number of opportunities for projects in the field of youth. One such funding opportunity is the Youth Exchanges funding strand, which enables youths aged 13-30 to implement a project with youths from at least one other eligible country. Projects must involve a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 60 youths from the participating countries.

The aim of Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges is to enable youth-led projects which promote the informal learning of youths. Informal learning is learning which is unstructured and takes place outside of a traditional classroom. Informal learning activities can include discussions, site visits, the organisation of public events and learning-by-doing activities.

Youth exchanges are meant to be built around a central theme – such as sports, music, social inclusion, health or other topics which the participating youths are interested in. Youth Exchange projects are also an opportunity for participants to learn about new cultures, opinions and customs.

Non-profit organisations and public bodies at local, regional and national level are amongst the eligible applicants for this call.

The upcoming deadline for submission of applications is October 5. For further information please contact Servizzi Ewropej f’Malta – SEM on 2200 3300 or info.sem@gov.mt
