The European Year of Youth aims to celebrate young people and provide employment opportunities across many different sectors for youths to gain knowledge and skills, to become active citizens and to contribute to positive change in Europe.

The Year has been designated mainly to address the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused suffering due to loss of job opportunities, study programmes, travel plans and disrupted social lives.

The programme for the Year will propose several actions and initiatives that youths can benefit from. The European Youth Portal will be the main platform where opportunities will be accessible through EU programmes such as Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps and DiscoverEU.

The European Youth Portal also provides wider helpful information about relevant opportunities and initiatives for young people living, learning and working in Europe.

European youths are invited to engage in building a greener, more inclusive and digital future with plenty of opportunities to learn, meet people share stories, participate in activities and build with confidence a post-pandemic future.
