EU Funds for the cultural and creative sectors
With a budget of €2.44 billion, Creative Europe is the EU’s funding programme for 2021-2027 which provides support to the culture and creative sectors.
The Creative Europe Programme provides funding opportunities for various culture and creative organisations. The programme aims to promote European cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage, and increase the competitiveness and the economic potential of the cultural and creative sectors.
Creative Europe is divided into three sub-programmes:
- The Culture strand which supports artistic and cultural cooperation at European level, allowing for the creation of European works and strengthening the economic, social and innovative dimensions of the cultural and creative sectors.
- The MEDIA strand which promotes the competitiveness, scalability, cooperation, innovation and sustainability of the European audio-visual sector.
- The Cross-Sectoral strand, which promotes policy cooperation supporting all strands of the Programme, promotes media literacy and an independent media environment, and fosters freedom of artistic expression and intercultural dialogue.
Various calls for proposals under the Creative Europe Programme are currently open, with deadlines ranging from August to November of 2021.
