Safeguarding Malta’s historic and cultural assets through EU Funds
Malta is richly endowed with sites, assets and artefacts of cultural and historical significance.
Due to their cultural and historic value, it is important to conserve and restore such assets to be enjoyed by future generations. In this regard, through Measure 1 of the LEADER EU-funding Programme for the Majjistral territory, local councils, registered voluntary organisations and natural persons can apply to obtain EU funds for the restoration of small-scale sites and objects of cultural and historic value.
Projects have a co-financing rate of 80%, up to a maximum of €40,000 for the restoration of sites and €12,000 for the restoration of objects. Projects must also be undertaken within the defined Majjistral territory comprising of 16 localities, such as Mellieħa, Mġarr, Siġġiewi and Naxxar to mention a few.
The next deadline for this call is March 30, 2021.
