Social dialogue is a cornerstone of democracy and indeed of the European social model. In recognition of the importance of social dialogue, the European Commission has launched the Social Prerogative and Specific Competencies Lines programme (SOCPL).

During 2021-2027 this funding programme will promote European social dialogue, the free movement of workers, coordination of social security schemes and studies to promote better policies within European Union (EU) Member States.

There is currently an open SOCPL funding opportunity entitled ‘Information and training measures for workers’ organisations’. The aim of this call is the capacity-building of workers’ organisations to address, at EU or transnational level, challenges related to changes in employment, work and social dialogue. The deadline for submission of applications is June 1, 2022.

Servizzi Ewropej f’Malta (SEM) can provide support both with the application process for EU funding as well as the implementation of EU funded projects. Please contact SEM on 2200 3300, info.sem@gov.mt or by visiting www.sem.gov.mt for more information.
