UHM Voice of the Workers held its annual festive gathering for its delegates in recognition to their continuous efforts throughout the year.

In his message, UHM CEO Josef Vella thanked both the delegates and the union staff for their work, particularly as this year saw several sectoral agreements concluded in the private sector, public entities, and the public service with the latter translating to better conditions for 33,000 workers. These efforts will continue in 2025 with negotiations for other agreements, over and above the handling of individual cases. He extended his gratitude to the sectional managers of union and the leadership officials.

Looking ahead, he outlined how UHM will be launching several projects, including a new website and a mobile application, to enhance communication with members. He said this would be a key project within the five-year mandate of the current leadership, which will end in 2026 with the next National Congress.

Josef Vella emphasized that UHM would continue to fight for what is right without fear or favour in the best interests of the country and workers. He said that unity would be crucial to fulfil the promises made in the 2021 National Congress.
