{"id":7717,"date":"2024-10-09T10:35:44","date_gmt":"2024-10-09T08:35:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/?post_type=article&#038;p=7717"},"modified":"2024-10-09T10:36:39","modified_gmt":"2024-10-09T08:36:39","slug":"hames-pajjizi-se-jircievu-aktar-minn-e1-biljun-fghajnuna-mill-ue-wara-dizastri-naturali","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/en\/article\/hames-pajjizi-se-jircievu-aktar-minn-e1-biljun-fghajnuna-mill-ue-wara-dizastri-naturali\/","title":{"rendered":"Five countries to receive over \u20ac1 billion in EU aid following natural disasters"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EP-535--1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7718\" srcset=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EP-535--1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EP-535--300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EP-535--768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EP-535--1536x1024.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EP-535--2048x1365.jpg 2048w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EP-535--480x320.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>MEPs approved over \u20ac1 billion in EU Solidarity Fund aid to support recovery efforts in five EU countries due to severe floods that occurred in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u20ac1,028,541,689 in aid from the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) will be distributed as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Italy<\/strong>: \u20ac378.8 million for the Emilia-Romagna region following flood damages in May 2023, and an additional \u20ac67.8 million for the Tuscany region after floods in October and November 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Slovenia<\/strong>: \u20ac428.4 million to address the consequences of the floods in August 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Austria<\/strong>: \u20ac5.2 million to assist with flood damages from August 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Greece<\/strong>: \u20ac101.5 million to support recovery efforts following the floods in September 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>France<\/strong>: \u20ac46.7 million for flood damages suffered by the Hauts-de-France region in November 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The EUSF assistance will cover part of the costs of emergency and recovery operations, including repairing damaged infrastructure, safeguarding cultural heritage, and conducting clean-up operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MEPs express their \u201cdeepest solidarity with all the victims, their families and all the individuals affected by the destructive floods in Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Greece and France as well as with the national, regional and local authorities involved in the relief efforts\u201d.
