Negotiations on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/doceo\/document\/A-9-2022-0301_EN.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new law<\/a>&nbsp;can start once member states decide on their own position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new rules would regulate how to correctly determine the employment status of platform workers and how digital labour platforms should use algorithms and artificial intelligence to monitor and evaluate workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mandate for negotiations was announced in plenary by President Metsola on Monday 16 January.
