{"id":5845,"date":"2022-04-22T11:01:21","date_gmt":"2022-04-22T09:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/?post_type=article&#038;p=5845"},"modified":"2022-04-22T11:02:55","modified_gmt":"2022-04-22T09:02:55","slug":"il-jum-dinji-ghas-sigurta-u-s-sahha-fuq-il-post-tax-xoghol","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/en\/article\/il-jum-dinji-ghas-sigurta-u-s-sahha-fuq-il-post-tax-xoghol\/","title":{"rendered":"World Day for Safety and Health at Work"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/SEM-409-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5846\" srcset=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/SEM-409-1024x681.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/SEM-409-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/SEM-409-768x511.jpg 768w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/SEM-409-480x320.jpg 480w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/SEM-409.jpg 1255w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>April 28 marks the World Day for Safety and Health at Work aimed at promoting the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Health and safety at work is an area in which the EU has had the biggest impact, with a solid legal framework covering the maximum number of risks with the minimum number of regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As enshrined in the <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A12008E153\">Treaties<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:12012P\/TXT&amp;from=EN\">the Charter of Fundamental Rights<\/a>, and more recently the&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/strategy\/priorities-2019-2024\/economy-works-people\/jobs-growth-and-investment\/european-pillar-social-rights_en\">European Pillar of Social Rights<\/a>, workers in the EU have the right to a high level of protection of their health and safety at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure that a high level of worker protection is maintained in the context of a post-pandemic world marked with rapid changes in the economy, demography and work patterns, the EU has established the<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/social\/BlobServlet?docId=24122&amp;langId=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work 2021-2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As detailed in this strategy, the EU\u2019s priorities and actions for improving health and safety at work in the coming years are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Anticipate and manage change in view of green, digital and demographic transitions;<\/li><li>Improve the prevention of work-related accidents and diseases; and<\/li><li>Increase preparedness to respond to current and future health crises.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>April 28 marks the World Day for Safety and Health at Work aimed at promoting the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally.
