{"id":497,"date":"2017-10-31T13:41:25","date_gmt":"2017-10-31T12:41:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/?post_type=article&#038;p=497"},"modified":"2017-11-01T14:57:53","modified_gmt":"2017-11-01T13:57:53","slug":"il-kummissjoni-ewropea-taddotta-inizjattiva-sabiex-issahhah-l-apprentistati-fl-ewropa","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/en\/article\/il-kummissjoni-ewropea-taddotta-inizjattiva-sabiex-issahhah-l-apprentistati-fl-ewropa\/","title":{"rendered":"European Commission adopts initiative to boost apprenticeships in Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-498\" src=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/sdf.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"5518\" height=\"2773\" srcset=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/sdf.jpg 5518w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/sdf-300x151.jpg 300w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/sdf-768x386.jpg 768w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/sdf-1024x515.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 5518px) 100vw, 5518px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Apprenticeship schemes prove to be particularly effective in bringing young people from education and training into work since it provides the combination of technical and soft skills that employers are looking for.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On October 5, 2017, the European Commission adopted a proposal aiming to improve the conditions and outcomes of apprenticeships for young people across the EU, in the hope that it will facilitate their job search later.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The proposal called a European Framework for Quality and Effective Apprenticeships, aimed at increasing the employability and personal development of apprentices while contributing towards a highly skilled and qualified workforce responsive to the labour market needs.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The proposal identifies 14 key criteria, most of which have been grey areas so far, like written contracts, learning outcomes, pay and safety conditions, and learning outcomes for the apprentices, as well as support for companies and involvement of social partners.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The proposal is part of the 2016 New Skills Agenda for Europe, which is aiming to improve the quality and relevance of skills formation.
