This scheme is co-funded by the Norwegian Funding Mechanism and it seeks to improve the quality of life of deprived communities in urban localities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this regard, the SGS will fund projects satisfying one or more of the below objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Supporting physical, economic, and social regeneration of deprived communities<\/li><li>Regenerating public open spaces and public housing<\/li><li>Revitalising urban towns ensuring better infrastructure<\/li><li>Enhancing the environmental aspects of deprived localities<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Only Local Councils in 21 urban localities are eligible to apply \u2013 some examples include Fgura, Floriana, Senglea and Vittoriosa. Other entities such as NGOs established as a legal person in Malta can participate as project partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum grant rate is 85% of the total eligible expenditure which may reach a maximum of \u20ac100,000.
