The European Cooperation in Science and Technology (better known as\u00a0COST<\/a>) is the longest-running European framework supporting trans-national cooperation among researchers, engineers and scholars across Europe.<\/p>\n COST funds pan-European, bottom-up networks of scientists and researchers across all science and technology fields. These networks, called COST Actions, promote international coordination of nationally-funded research.<\/p>\n Every COST Action\u00a0has an objective, defined goals and clear deliverables. These are described in a Memorandum of Understanding accepted by at least seven participating\u00a0COST Member States<\/a>. One may browse through all the\u00a0running COST Actions<\/a>.<\/p>\n COST\u00a0Actions\u00a0cover a range of networking tools, such as\u00a0meetings, workshops, conferences, training schools, short-term scientific missions and dissemination activities.\u00a0These actions are\u00a0open to researchers from\u00a0universities, public and private research institutions as well as NGOs, industry and SMEs.<\/p>\n The average COST Action budget depends\u00a0on the number of COST Member States participating in the Action. The funding is provided via a yearly grant agreement.<\/p>\n COST invites researchers throughout Europe to submit proposals for\u00a0COST Actions\u00a0through a continuous\u00a0Open Call.<\/p>\n
