Through th<\/span>e Employment and Social Innovation (<\/span>EaSI<\/span>)\u00a0<\/span>programme<\/span>, the EU seeks to<\/span>\u00a0promote a high level of quality and sustainable employment, guaranteeing adequate and decent social protection, combating social exclusion and poverty and improving working conditions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

EaSI<\/span>\u00a0is managed directly by the European Commission<\/span>\u00a0and some of its objectives include: (<\/span>i<\/span>)\u00a0<\/span>S<\/span>upport<\/span>\u00a0for<\/span>\u00a0the development of adequate social protection systems and\u00a0<\/span>labour<\/span>\u00a0market policies; (ii)\u00a0<\/span>Increase the availability and accessibility of microfinance for vulnerable groups and micro-enterprises, and increase access to finance for social enterprises<\/span>; and (iii)\u00a0<\/span>Promote geographical mobility and boost employment opportunities by developing an open\u00a0<\/span>labour<\/span>\u00a0market<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Recently, the European Commission adopted its annual work programme<\/span>\u00a0for grants and procurement for<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>EaSI<\/span>\u00a02020<\/span>, setting the priorities\u00a0<\/span>of the\u00a0<\/span>programme<\/span>\u00a0for next year<\/span>. These priorities\u00a0<\/span>are<\/span>\u00a0the promotion of international and\u00a0<\/span>labour<\/span>\u00a0standards, ensuring\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>safe and healthy work environment, job creation through social entrepreneurship and the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout 2020\u00a0<\/span>a number of<\/span>\u00a0different calls for proposals will be published<\/span>\u00a0focusing on the above-mentioned priorities<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>including<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>call for proposals on social innovation<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>The aim of th<\/span>is call for\u00a0<\/span>proposals\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>to provide funding for pilot projects which test integrated and innovative approaches\u00a0<\/span>addressing<\/span>\u00a0social exclusion.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
