The European Cooperation in Science and Technology (better known as COST<\/a>), is the longest-running European framework supporting trans-national cooperation among researchers, engineers and scholars across Europe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n COST funds pan-European, bottom-up networks of scientists and researchers across all science and technology fields. These networks, called COST Actions, promote international coordination of nationally-funded research.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Every COST Action has an objective, defined goals and clear deliverables. These are described in a Memorandum of Understanding, accepted by at least seven participating\u202fCOST Member States<\/a>. One may browse through all the\u202frunning COST Actions.<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n COST\u202fActions\u202fare active through a range of networking tools, such as\u202fmeetings, workshops, conferences, training schools, short-term scientific missions and dissemination activities.\u202fThese actions are open to researchers from\u202funiversities, public and private research institutions, as well as to NGOs, industry and SMEs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The average COST Action budget depends on the number of COST Member States participating in the Action. The funding is provided via a yearly grant agreement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n COST invites researchers throughout Europe to submit proposals for\u202fCOST Actions\u202fthrough a continuous\u202fOpen Call.\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
