The variety is quite significant, with workers in Bulgaria guaranteed almost \u20ac300 per month, while those working in Luxembourg earning a minimum of \u20ac2,000.\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/images\/d\/d3\/Minimum_wages%2C_July_2009_and_July_2019_%28EUR_per_month_and_%25%29.png\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Statistics<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0by Eurostat also show that all Member States have seen some form of increase in their minimum wages over the last decade.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">However, is there a possibility of establishing a common minimum wage across all EU Member States? The new European Commission is\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">actually proposing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0the establishment of a legal instrument to ensure that every worker in the EU has a fair and just minimum wage.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It is not clear what the way forward is for such an instrument, as it could mean establishing a common model for how each Member State calculates its minimum wage, or it could lead to a common figure for all. The latter option could be problematic as all Member States have different costs of living and different standards.
