Our country\u00a0<\/span>is at a standstill.<\/span>\u00a0It is going nowhere. We are the ones who are going to pay for the chaos that we are going through. The workplaces, the workers and the Maltese public in general are the ones who will pay for it. More damage will be done with every day that passes, and the damage being done to the country and to everyone is irreparable.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Malta\u2019s reputation is in tatters due to the instability it is experiencing.<\/span>\u00a0 This country enjoyed a good reputation<\/span>\u00a0for all of 25 years and some years under the present Government. The positive things done by this Government have turned to ashes because of all this filth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This Government\u2019s governance is tainted with corruption and the shocking details that are emerging one after the other at a fast rate in connection with Daphne\u00a0<\/span>Caruana<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Galizia\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0assassination have increased the national crisis we are living at the moment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This country cannot afford to wait until the 12 of January to\u00a0<\/span>get back to some sort of normality. The\u00a0<\/span>Partit<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Laburista<\/span>\u00a0must act before that date and elect a new leader and prime minister immediately.\u00a0 Every day that Joseph Muscat remains in the role of Prime Minister precludes a real investigation into the assassination of Daphne\u00a0<\/span>Caruana<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Galizia<\/span>\u00a0to identify the involvement of the people around it; to find out what he knew about the involvement of Keith\u00a0<\/span>Schembri<\/span>\u00a0in this brutal killing.\u00a0<\/span>Voice of the Workers<\/span><\/i>\u00a0appeals to the investigators to not be afraid, not<\/span>\u00a0give up and continue to dig deep until they uncover the whole truth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Those of good will are concerned and worried by this crisis that can affect the economy, jobs and Malta\u2019s foreign policy.<\/span>\u00a0 Above all, this crisis can have huge repercussions if not addressed quickly \u2013 and repercussions for everyone \u2013 Nationalists and Socialists.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We have already read or heard about European\u00a0<\/span>and international\u00a0<\/span>journals<\/span>\u00a0with headlines about Malta that make us blush. Locally, many associations, particularly from the financial sector were vociferous in their statements and insist that because of the illegal and irresponsible\u00a0 way that he led the Government, which led to the tarnishing of our reputation, Joseph Muscat should resign immediately. Some\u00a0<\/span>Partit<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Laburista<\/span>\u00a0supporters are also saying this, among them the\u00a0<\/span>ex Labour<\/span>\u00a0MEP Marlene\u00a0<\/span>Mizzi<\/span>\u00a0who cannot stand to see this saga go on.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Malta is not a mafia state.<\/span>\u00a0It is a few criminals that are shaming us with their scandalous behaviour.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The resignation of the Prime Minister is not sufficient. Whoever was involved in the murder of Daphne\u00a0<\/span>Caruana<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Galizia<\/span>, from the top person to the bottom, needs to\u00a0<\/span>brought<\/span>\u00a0to justice and pay for their actions.
