Finding the right balance betw<\/span>een the\u00a0<\/span>work place<\/span>\u00a0and our private lives is not always a simple endeavour. Indeed, with the constant innovations in digital solutions, it has become even more difficult to strike a balance between when our working day begins and ends. Today many would certainly relate to the reality of replying to work emails after office hours, and this has<\/span>\u00a0continued\u00a0<\/span>to raise questions on how on<\/span>e can achieve a proper work-life balance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As part of the objectives of the European Pillar of Social Rights, the European Commission is currently working on addressing the issue of work-life balance, particularly as it relates to parents and carers. This\u00a0<\/span>initiative<\/span><\/a>\u00a0takes into account the developments in society over the past decade in order to enable parents and people with caring responsibilities to better balance their work and family lives and to encourage a better sharing of caring responsibilities between women and men.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This initiative also looks to support Member States by ensuring adequate protection against discrimination and dismissal for parents and carers, promoting gender balance, and improving the use of EU funds to improve long-term childcare services.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
