This\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">addresses the work-life balance challenges faced by working parents and carers.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">According to the Commission,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">he\u202f<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=COM:2017:252:FIN\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Communication: An initiative to support work-life balance for working parents and carers<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fsets out a comprehensive\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">package of complementary legal and policy measures<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, which are mutually reinforcing.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Commission has also made to sure to modernise\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the existing EU legal framework in the area of family-related leaves and fle<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">xible working arrangements, such as with the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">proposal for a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX:52017PC0253\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Directive on work-life balance for parents<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and carers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Furthermore, i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">n order to complement the legislative proposal, the initiative contains\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a set of non-legislative measures\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to support Member States in achieving our common goals.
