How quickly we forget! The reality for most businesses is that it is the young workers that communicate best with clients. For many employers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0they are the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0face of the company.\u00a0 To remain competitive and maximise profits, employers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0must invest in the skills that youths bring with them to the workplace.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559731&quot;:180,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">he youths of today<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2019s generation,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0many of whom were born after 1990, have lived their lives in a world of technology, information and communication. However, I believe that insufficient attention is being given to instilling a sense of personal responsibility in youths and to teaching them basic work ethic at school and in the home. I dare say that some youths have never heard of the importance of being on time, respecting their superiors and communicating clearly or to value their commitment to their work.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559731&quot;:180,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">So\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">how can<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0a young worker<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0be motivated<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">?<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0I think that we should\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">compliment<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0youths on a job well done. Today\u2019s youths can be very loyal if they are taken seriously and treated with respect. One should also celebrate their successes, not only at work but also in their private lives.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559731&quot;:180,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We all know that youths<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0come with an independent attitude.\u00a0 We should work with them to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">establish their aims and help them get results. Also<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, youths need to know why they are being tasked with a piece of work. We cannot assume that they know<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0we need to confirm what they know about the work they have been asked to do and explain the aim behind each job.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559731&quot;:180,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Above all one should\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">try to get on well\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">with young workers.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0The way a manager conducts themselves at work has a great impact on the performance of worker. Today\u2019s youths are more informed and adapt more easily. We should not judge them through the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">lens of the time of our youth.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We need to look at them through their eyes.
