{"id":1844,"date":"2018-09-24T13:51:53","date_gmt":"2018-09-24T11:51:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/?post_type=article&#038;p=1844"},"modified":"2018-09-24T13:52:35","modified_gmt":"2018-09-24T11:52:35","slug":"lejn-l-elezzjonijiet-tal-ue-fl-2019","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/en\/article\/lejn-l-elezzjonijiet-tal-ue-fl-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Countdown to EU elections 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1845\" src=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/voting_EU_EN.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" srcset=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/voting_EU_EN.png 1200w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/voting_EU_EN-300x169.png 300w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/voting_EU_EN-768x432.png 768w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/voting_EU_EN-1024x576.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The results of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2s2aMe7\">Eurobarometer 89.2<\/a>\u00a0entitled \u2018Democracy on the Move, European Elections: One Year to Go\u2019, has reconfirmed citizens\u2019 continuous support for the EU.<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The survey also found that\u00a067% of Europeans are convinced that their country benefits from being a member of the EU \u2013 the highest score ever measured since 1983.\u00a0Some\u00a048% said they believe their voice counts in the EU.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Almost a third of respondents (32%) said that they know the date of the European elections in 2019, while 50% said that they were interested in the elections.<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The majority of respondents in Malta (61%) said that they are totally interested in European affairs, which is some seven points more than the EU average. The country that scored best is the Netherlands.
