{"id":1701,"date":"2018-08-21T12:43:09","date_gmt":"2018-08-21T10:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/?post_type=article&#038;p=1701"},"modified":"2018-08-21T13:38:30","modified_gmt":"2018-08-21T11:38:30","slug":"att-dwar-is-sigurta-fuq-l-internet-ibnu-l-fiducja-fit-teknologiji-digitali","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/en\/article\/att-dwar-is-sigurta-fuq-l-internet-ibnu-l-fiducja-fit-teknologiji-digitali\/","title":{"rendered":"Cybersecurity Act: build trust in digital technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1692\" src=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/iStock-854938338-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2449\" height=\"1224\" srcset=\"http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/iStock-854938338-min.jpg 2449w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/iStock-854938338-min-300x150.jpg 300w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/iStock-854938338-min-768x384.jpg 768w, http:\/\/weekly.uhm.org.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/iStock-854938338-min-1024x512.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2449px) 100vw, 2449px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A new certification framework for connected devices, together with a stronger role for the EU Cybersecurity Agency, were backed by Industry Committee MEPs.<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The EU cybersecurity scheme will certify that an ICT product, process or service has no known vulnerabilities at the time of the certification\u2019s release and that it complies with international standards and technical specifications.<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Cybersecurity certification\u00a0<\/b><b>framewo<\/b><b>rk<\/b>.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Certification will be voluntary and, where appropriate, mandatory and will prove:<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">confidentiality, integrity, availability and privacy of services, functions and data,<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\">that services, functions and data can be accessed and used only by\u00a0authorised\u00a0persons and\/or\u00a0authorised\u00a0systems and\u00a0programmes,<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\">that processes are in place to identify all known vulnerabilities and deal with any new ones,<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\">that products, processes or services are designed to be secure and that they are fitted with up-to-date software without any known vulnerabilities,<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"5\" data-aria-level=\"1\">that other risks linked to cyber incidents, such as risks to life or health, are\u00a0minimised.<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
