This is what the European Pillar of Social Rights is all about.\u201d<\/i><i>\u00a0<\/i>European Commission<i>\u00a0<\/i>President Juncker,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/en\/meetings\/european-council\/2018\/03\/21\/\">Tripartite Social Summit.<\/a><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/priorities\/deeper-and-fairer-economic-and-monetary-union\/european-pillar-social-rights_en\">Pillar of Social Rights<\/a>\u00a0is about\u202fdelivering new and more effective rights for citizens.\u00a0As part of its\u00a0implementation process, the European Commission has adopted a\u202f<a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/social\/BlobServlet?docId=19158&amp;langId=en\">proposal for a Council Recommendation<\/a>\u00a0on access to social protection for workers and the self-employed.<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Over the last two decades, globalisation, technology, changes in individual preferences and demographic changes have contributed to important\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurofound.europa.eu\/topic\/labour-market-change\">changes in the labour markets.<\/a>\u00a0A growing number of people in the labour market have only insufficient access to social protection.\u00a0The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/social\/main.jsp?catId=1312&amp;langId=en\">&#8216;Access to social protection for workers and the self-employed&#8217; initiative<\/a>\u00a0aims at supporting all self-employed and non-standard workers who, due to their contract type or labour market status, are not sufficiently protected by social protection schemes.\u00a0The Recommendation\u00a0is aimed at\u00a0creating\u00a0more fairness between companies, by\u00a0creating a level-playing field and extending\u00a0coverage.<span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; \u201cA fair and more social Europe is key in shaping our Union\u2019s future.
