Data<\/a>\u00a0collected on the implementation of the Youth Guarantee has shown a steep decline in youth unemployment across the EU since 2014. This data is gathered by the Employment Committee within DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Five years since the introduction of the Youth Guarantee,\u00a0the situation of young people in the labour market has significantly improved. Youth unemployment has dropped from a peak of 24% in 2013 to less than 16% at the end of 2017.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The current situations of youths who have gone through the Youth Guarantee are also promising. In fact,\u00a0close to half of participants are still in employment, education or training 6 months after leaving the Youth Guarantee schemes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Youth Guarantee has been particularly\u00a0successful in\u00a0Malta<\/a>, where the unemployment rate at the end of 2017 was just 4%. The Employment Committee also noted that\u00a0Malta is making very good progress in implementing the Youth Guarantee, as well as making\u00a0considerable progress in reaching out to and reducing the number of\u00a0people not in work, education and training.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
